First Sanctuary to the Goddess Ixchel in Yucatan: A Miracle in Zazil Tunich

Share on:

For years, we have witnessed extraordinary experiences at Zazil Tunich, especially with couples who visit us to celebrate special occasions or simply for a romantic getaway. We have always attributed these experiences to the positive energy that emanates from this magical place, from the corridors surrounded by endemic vegetation to the Cenote & Museum, whose mineral-laden waters seem to have healing properties.

Stories and Legends of the Ancient Mayans

The ancient people around Zazil Tunich have told us fascinating stories about the rituals the Mayans performed at this sacred site. In particular, they mention three Mu'ul, small altars where powerful energies intersect, used by the Mayans to strengthen the healing of the body and spirit. In one of these Mu'ul, we found fragments of pieces that we were unable to identify, but a Mayan Xmen suggested we perform a Mayan family wedding at that site. During the ceremony, we felt an intense energy, although at the time we did not understand that it was the presence of the goddess Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of love.

The Encounter with the Goddess Ixchel

Years later, a craftsman came to Zazil Tunich and, after demonstrating his work, gave us a special piece of carved stone. We realized that it resembled the fragments found in the Mu'ul where we celebrated our wedding. It turned out to be a replica of the Mayan goddess Ixchel. Without giving it much importance, we made an altar for it, but what happened from that moment on was amazing. The energy that couples felt in their ceremonies and stays at Zazil Tunich intensified, gradually consolidating the ritual of love and fertility.

The Miracle of Fertility

In March 2023, a couple came to Zazil Tunich attracted by our romantic dinners and couples rituals. They shared with us their desire to perform a special Mayan ceremony for their anniversary and to consolidate the blessing of fertility, which until then had not reached their relationship. After the ceremony and immersing themselves in the shallow waters of the cenote as part of the ritual, they set off back to their destination.

A year later, we received a WhatsApp message from “Sina Stoll”, one of the members of the couple shared with us that she was finally able to get pregnant and give birth to a beautiful baby whom they wanted to baptize with the same sacred waters of Zazil Tunich. We finally had evidence of what had been happening with the couples who visited Zazil Tunich: the Mayan goddess Ixchel was intervening in the energetic processes by summoning her image, which we had placed at the entrance of the cenote after a time in one of the Mu'ul.

The Sanctuary of Love and Fertility

This event consolidated Zazil Tunich as a sanctuary of love and fertility. We have reaffirmed our commitment to building the first sanctuary in Yucatan dedicated to the Mayan goddess Ixchel. This event confirmed to us that what we had been experiencing when entering this Cenote & Museum was the strong and positive energy of these entities that are part of the spirit of this place.

Activities for Couples at the Sanctuary

The Sanctuary of Love and Fertility of the Mayan Goddess Ixchel currently offers activities focused on couples who wish to strengthen their emotional ties or consolidate fertility. It is a place where energy transforms lives through rituals and activities for couples, a space where love and the magic of the ancient Mayan civilization intertwine to create unforgettable experiences.
