A small-group morning cenote experience

Step away from the crowds and discover the Maya underworld at Zazil Tunich. Your visit includes a Maya purification ceremony every day except Tuesdays.

 Follow your guide into a cavern shaped by stone, water and Maya storytelling. Discover the legend of Xibalbá and its nine levels as you descend toward the cenote. On days when the ceremony takes place, a local Maya spiritual guide leads a purification ritual before your swim in the clear, shallow water. Cenote access begins at noon.

Your experience includes:

  • Cenote access with a limited number of guests 
  • Maya ceremony included every day except Tuesdays
  • Swimming in cenote.
  • If transportation is required, the departure is from the city of Valladolid.
