Zazil Tunich is proud to have been awarded the Mexican Tourist Product Innovation Award in the "Meetings and Romance Tourism" category for our "Encounter in Xibalbá" project. This recognition was granted by the Federal Government of Mexico's Secretariat of Tourism (SECTUR) and the Mexico Visitors and Conventions Bureau (OFVC), in acknowledgment of our effort and dedication to offering unique and innovative experiences to our visitors.
Encounter in Xibalbá is a unique experience, based on Maya culture and located in Valladolid, Yucatán. It offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the mystical "Cave of Xibalbá" and live an unforgettable experience in a natural and culturally rich environment.
This recognition inspires us to continue creating memorable experiences for our visitors. We thank Mexico’s tourism authorities and the team whose work made this achievement possible.

MAYAN UNDERWORLD

Follow a guide through the cavern, where stone formations become part of the storytelling. Discover the legend of Xibalbá and its nine levels. On level 7, the experience includes a Maya purification ceremony led by a local spiritual practitioner, before continuing towards the clear cenote waters on levels 8 and 9. NIGHTS OF XIBALBÁ

Follow your guide into a cavern where Maya heritage and the legend of Xibalbá bring the underground landscape to life.
