Zazil Tunich is proud to have been awarded the 2023 Mexican Tourism Product Innovation award in the “Meeting Tourism” category for his project “Meeting in Xibalbá”. This recognition was granted by the Secretariat of Tourism of the Federal Government of Mexico (SECTUR) and the Mexican Convention and Visitors Bureau (OFVC) in recognition of our effort and dedication to offering unique and innovative experiences to our visitors.
Encounter at Xibalbá is a unique experience, based on Mayan culture and located in Valladolid, Yucatán, it offers visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the mythical “Xibalba Cave” and live an unforgettable experience in a natural and culturally rich environment.

MAYAN UNDERWORLD
In this experience you will be able to enjoy a guided tour through a place full of history, where great events of the Mayan culture occurred where the stones tell their story, you will learn part of the Mayan Mythology through the Legend of Xibalbá and its 9 levels Mayan Underworld in the company of our guide, at level 7, you will be part of a Mayan Purification Ceremony with a Xaman from the region, to then go down the eighth and ninth levels of the Mayan Underworld, in which, now with a purified body, you will be able to immerse yourself in crystal clear waters of a sacred cenote.

We are in a Magical Town of Mexico located between 4 of the most important archaeological zones in Mexico, 45 km from the wonder of the modern world Chichen Itzá, 20 km from the Ekbalam Archaeological Zone, 40 km from the Archaeological Zone of Cobá and 100 km from the Archaeological Zone of Tulum.
